Concept

Located in the heart of Tech Central

Located within the Tech Central precinct the Sydney Biomedical Accelerator will be positioned to dynamically collaborate with industry and start-ups as part of a world leading hospital, university and tech innovation ecosystem.

The SBA will be designed to accommodate researchers and educators from the University of Sydney, employees from Sydney Local Health District, and commercial partners.

Built for patient-centre research and health outcomes

A first-in-kind complex in the Australian context, the Sydney Biomedical Accelerator will be purpose built to genuinely integrate fundamental research at the molecular and cellular level with clinical and patient-centred research and health outcomes.

A key feature will be a modular structure that future-proofs the facility, allowing flexibility, the incorporation of evolving technology and reconfiguration of the space to accommodate dynamic changes in research strategy and partnerships that arise through new discoveries.

Spanning the RPA Hospital and University of Sydney campuses

Spanning Sydney Local Health District’s Royal Prince Alfred (RPA) Hospital campus and University of Sydney campus, the SBA will co-locate, physically connect and genuinely integrate fundamental research with patient-centred research.   All three buildings will be interconnected, allowing seamless transition between Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and the Susan Wakil Health Building.
